The CASB delegation met Jiangsu Party Secretary Luo Zhijun and Governor Li Xueyong
On May, 29th, 2013, the Chinese Association for Science and Business (CASB) delegation met Jiangsu Party Secretary, Luo Zhijun, in Nanjing. Both sides agreed to promote bilateral innovation of cooperation as well as the cooperating approach. During the meeting, Dr. Daxi Li, Chairman of the CASB highly praised Jiangsu’s plan of establishing the Jiangsu Institute of Industry and Technology in the U.S. Secretary Luo Zhijun indicated that Jiangsu will support collaboration between Jiangsu’s companies and the U.S.
On June 25th, the CASB Delegation joined the Jiangsu Entrepreneur Forum and the Inauguration Ceremony of the U.S. (Silicon Valley) Jiangsu Institute of Industry and Technology in Silicon Valley. Li Xueyong, Governor of Jiangsu Province, met with the CASB Delegation and unveiled the nameplate of the institute. During the forum, Dr. Daxi Li was nominated as the Honorary President of the Institute. In the following speech after the nomination, Dr. Daxi Li pointed out that the mission of CASB is to build a bridge between technology and industry, between China and the world, which is in accordance with the mission of the Institute. CASB will utilize its resources and experience to assist and support the development of the Institute, serving science-and-technology enterprises, promoting development of industrial innovation, building platform for the nurturing and exchanging of technical elites between China and the U.S., motivating innovation and cooperation between the two countries. The CASB Delegation was formed by ten key members. They attended the ceremony and the following stakeholders’ meeting in the Institute.
On June 30th, after visiting Silicon Valley, the Jiangsu Economic and Information Technology Commission Delegation visited New York City. CASB held a banquet for the Jiangsu delegation at mid-town Manhattan. Distinguished guests who attended the banquet included CASB Consultants: Dr. Ma Zuoping, member of the National Academy of Engineering and Chair Professor of the Yale University; Dr. Alan Paau, Vice Provost of the Cornell University; Dr. Zhang Zhongjun, Former President of the Polytechnic Institute of New York University; Mr. Li Yang, President of the New York Professional Business College and Chairman of the Long Island Business Institute; Mr. Liu Jianbang, Chairman of the Jiangsu Nandasoft Technology Company Limited. Mr. Gong Huaijin, associate director of Jiangsu Economic and Information Technology Commission remarked that the Institute will also seek to establish a branch in Eastern America. Participants of the dinner all offered advices for the coming establishment of the Institute, saying that they will support the development of the Institute.
