Continuing promotions of innovation and cooperation between US and China, Chinese Association for Science and Business (CASB) co-hosted the Promotion Conference of Guangdong High-Tech Service Zone (High-Tech Zone) for Financial Institutions at Harvard Club in New York City.
“This is once again an important event that CASB promotes innovation and cooperation between US and China,” said Dr. Daxi Li, Chairman of the CASB, “It is best opportunity for discussions and communications between political and financial leaders both in US and China.”
“Guangdong is an area in China where implemented reform and opening-up at most earliest time. It is the top province in China in terms of GDP, Import and Export, Tax and Financial Assets,” said by Dr. Daxi Li in his speech at the conference. “When it comes to cooperation between US and China, Guangdong is in the first place, ”he added. He further points out that the delegation of Guangdong is choosing a right time to promote the High-Tech Zone, when both Chinese and American highest leading bodies completed their power shift successfully. Dr. Li also introduced the long-standing corporative relationships between CASB and Guangdong Province since 1997 and the recent progress of cooperation with Zhuhai City. He proposes to establish CASB financial innovation base in the High-Tech Zone, which is strongly welcomed by the attendees.
The conference, which attracted more than 200 professionals who are leaders from Guangdong province and local governments, financial regulation bodies and economics think tanks as well as elites from Wall St., aims at promoting the High-Tech Service Zone for financial institutions and attracting perspective investors and clients.
Ye Dongbai, the counselor of Science and Technology in Consulate General of PRC in New York, gave a remark at the conference. Zhou Gaoxiong, Chief director of the Finance Affair Office of Guangdong Province, delivered a presentation on the conference, which introduced the overall development and policy of Guangdong High-Tech Service Zone for Financial Institutions and the advantages and strategic plan of developing financial back office service base. Liu Wei, Vice Mayor of Foshan City, where the Zone is located, introduced the developing process of the Zone at the conference.
The High-Tech Zone, which is founded by the Guangdong Provincial Government in July 2007, is the only province-level financial back office service base approved by Guangdong Provincial Government and it will focus on attracting data processing centers, call centers, disaster recovery centers, training centers, R&D centers and other back office departments of financial institutions, finance-centered service outsourcing enterprises, headquarters and regional head offices of financial institutions, according to the official publication of the conference.
The promotion conference is jointly presented by Guangdong Province Government and Guangdong Finance Administration and co-hosted by Foshan City and CASB. The conference was widely covered by major medias such as CCTV, Xinhua News agency, and Phenix TV, etc.
