Right before the opening of 18th CPC National Congress, the Chinese Association for Science and Business (CASB) delegation visited China for 10 days, from October 28th to November 6th, 2012. The delegation was led by Dr. Li Daxi, Chairman of CASB. The main tasks of this visit include: 1. signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with Zhuhai City; 2. Looking for the best city for launching the BaiHe Biopharmaceutical Group, one of the key projects of CASB. The visit was a complete success.
On November 1, CASB and Zhuhai Municipal Government signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement. Under the agreement, the two sides will work together to promote international cooperation and to attract entrepreneurial development leaders and project resources in the field of natural science, information technology, biological research, new energy, financial services to Zhuhai; to nurture and support the growth of high-tech projects; to commit to establish a center in Zhuhai for innovation, financial service, talents and capital accumulation, which will lead the economic development of the Pearl River Delta. Party secretary of Zhuhai Municipal Li Jia, deputy secretary and Mayor He Ningka, vice mayor Long Guangyan, Hengqin Special Administration Region party secretary Liu Jia, and Directors from municipal government departments attended the signing ceremony and banquet. As the key project of CASB in 2012 and 2013, the BaiHe Biopharmaceutical Group Companies (BaiHe Group) have been established about half year ago and grew quickly. BaiHe Group is led by talents from various bio-medical fields in the United States; most of them are leaders in their respective fields in both academia and industry. BaiHe Group not only has rich reserves of projects, but also has an experienced business operation team. Several senior Board members of BaiHe Group including Chairman of the Board, Dr. Mang Yu are members of CASB and were in the delegation. The delegation visited Nanjing, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Dongguan and Guangzhou City.
At the end of this trip, Dr. Daxi Li was invited to give a keynote speech at the South China University of Technology (SCUT). The CASB delegation also met the newly appointed president of SCUT, Dr. Wang Yingjun.
