Happy Chinese New Year!
I have the great pleasure of inviting you to join us at a CASB Annual Party on Saturday, Feb. 21 at 6:00 p.m. in cerebration of the Year of the Ox. Location: Evergreen Restaurant, 10 E 38th St. (near 5th Ave.), New York City, 10016 (Tel. 212-448-1199 ).
Among the honorable guests are Ambassador Peng Keyu, Chinese Consul-General in New York, and Prof. Robert Mundell, Nobel Laureate in Economics. Prof. Robert Mundell will give a talk on the current world financial crisis.
Many distinguished personalities from New York’s business, education, diplomatic and cultural communities will join us at the party. It will be a good opportunity to renew friendship, exchange ideas and have fun.
You will enjoy Evergreen Restaurant’s famous 10-course dinner. May we suggest a donation $50 and up to defray the expenses. CASB is a US IRS-approved 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. Your donation to CASB is tax deductible, and can be made in cash or through a check or credit card.
CASB has made important progress in the past year. We conducted a series of highly successful events to raise funds and liaise with afflicted areas for the Sichuan Earth Quake relief effort. We organized delegations to visit China, including Beijing, Guangdong, Jiangsu, Henan, Hebei, and Jilin, and signed some important agreements in Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Henan, and Nanjing. We have also hosted many meetings in New York for Chinese delegations. I will give a brief report about our activities and present our plan for 2009.
